Not only known for our singing and getting out and about, one of Concentus’ many talents is fund-raising. This year we dedicated a Monday night’s rehearsal tea break to a “Bake sale” to raise fund for BBC’s ‘Children In Need’ annual appeal. Members of the choir had put their baking aprons on over the weekend to produce home baked goodies, from cheese scones to flapjack and gateaux, iced buns to treacle tarts; all in a bid to raise as much as we could for this worthy cause. Much fun was had in the process as we got into the spirit of “Pudsey” and donned as much yellow as we could, making a change to our usual signature red fleeces!!
At the end of the evening a very impressive £179.34 had been raised, with coming from sales of excess cakes at the following rehearsal. Excess cakes??!
